Stepping up: The impact of shoes and books on communities
By Krish Patel
Recently, Footprints and Pages, in partnership with Bamboo School and the Kuta Street Kids Project,
donated 30 pairs of shoes along with 20 books to an area in Bali.
About Bali
Bali is often seen as a luxurious getaway for tourists, but beyond its perfect shell,
there are still communities in need of support, and that is why Footprints and Pages has
made it their mission to aid communities in need.
What a Pair of Shoes Can Do
Shoes aren’t just for style and comfort, they protect our feet from rough terrain, slippery slopes,
and everything between. Most people take shoes for granted, disregarding their true purpose. Alternatively,
our donation to Bali has helped families keep their feet protected and covered as they perform daily duties.
Families will no longer have to walk across sharp, jagged terrain unprotected. We believe that everyone
deserves basic necessities at Footprints and Pages. These shoes represent hope and comfort for those who
need them.
Empowering Knowledge
The 20 books we donated represent more than just stories or facts on a page. Each book that was donated
holds the potential to spark curiosity, muster creativity, and ignite the flame of learning. In Bali, where
resources are more scarce, books are a valuable tool to enlighten minds and hearts. By donating these books
to underprivileged areas, we seek to empower children and adults to aim high and accomplish whatever
they seek in life.
Building a Community for All
This donation is about more than just providing materials. It's about forming meaningful and impactful
connections between people and communities alike. We’re proud of this initiative that we have set out to
achieve, but even more can still be done to change lives. We aim to reach more communities and change
more lives for the better. We thank everyone for their support and cooperation as we set out to reach our
goal.
